Boogie Woogie STROOGLE Boy
YDM : May 4th, 2012

Not all designers at YDM are inspired to advise what fashion is in mode or how to embellish your abode. Some stallholders are storytellers…preferring to paint a picture in your mind

.

Busy Brisbane bard Dr Cameron Stelzer creates captivating characters and composes their adventures. His headlining hero has an impressive swag of six stories up his sleeve with the new “The Stroogle In Space” being released at the May YDM.

.

A great gift for any adventurous ankle-biters and their game guardians – as Mothers Day draws closer,  we find out more about the talented trader, not just adept at capturing the imagination of kids, also the creator of a unique universe…

.

The tales with legs are those from your childhood.  Many of us share sentiment for Dr. Seuss with his wacky ‘Cat in The Hat’ and some even choose to treat poignant ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” as a go-to guide for life.

.

The Young Designers Market has it’s own equivalent in Dr Cameron Stelzer from Daydream Press-With a Doctorate of Visual Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours along with a Graduate Diploma in Education, you could say that no one is more qualified to communicate with kids in the written and illustrated form.

.The series of Stroogle books are colourful stories that use enchanting rhyme and vivid watercolour illustrations. The Stroogle was written and illustrated during the year Cameron spent working at the Natural History Museum in London (2002-03). He was inspired by the many weird and wonderful creatures the museum held in its collection.

.

BREAKING NEWS: The sixth picture book in the popular Stroogle series – ‘The Stroogle in Space’ will be released at the May Young Designers Market along with the new silver space design T-Shirts for kids!

SYNOPSIS OF THE STROOGLE IN SPACE:

The ratbag Pie-Rats make their anticipated return in the Stroogle’s sixth epic adventure, The Stroogle in Space. Six years in the making, this story was inspired by the author’s love of space and presents cosmic facts with a clever dairy twist.

After receiving a distress call from outer space, the Stroogle blasts off in his homemade rocket on a rescue mission to the moon:

An SOS echoed from high in the heavens;
a cry from the Milk-Bots to come save the day.
“The Pie-Rats have landed. Can anyone save us?
They’re making a mess of our grand Milky Way!”

Outnumbered (but never outsmarted) the Stroogle challenges the Pie-Rats to the ultimate space showdown; a Milky Way milkshake competition!  Watch out for dark chocolate black holes, stinky cheese asteroids and other dairy delights in the galactic search for marvellous milkshake ingredients.
